The present writ petition has been instituted challenging the order dated 06.03.2026 passed in Diary No.310/00449/2026 in M.A.No.310/00127 of 2026 in O.A.No.754 of 2010, Diary No.310/00448/2026 in M.A.No.310/00128 of 2026 in O.A.No.752 of 2010 2. The writ petitioner filed a miscellaneous petition to modify / clarify the order dated 16.02.2012 passed in O.A.No.754 of 2010 to the effect that the applicants are inducted into 'scientific service' and not 'technical service' as erroneously stated in Para 11 of the judgment of the Tribunal. 3. This Court has perused the order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal in the Original Applications as well as the orders passed by the Division Bench of the High Court confirming the orders passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai Bench as well as the orders passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Cuttack and Ernakulam Benches. We are of the view that in the absence of adjudication of merits by this Court, clarification cannot be issued. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Nos. 27624 of 2026 __________ Page5 of 7 Clarification as such sought for would substantially affect the nature of the services to be considered by the respondents. 4. Therefore, it is inevitable that the merits are to be adjudicated and without adjudicating the merits independently, this Court cannot simply direct the authorities to induct the writ petitioners into 'scientific services' and not 'technical services'. Whether it is an error committed by the Central Administrative Tribunal or otherwise is to be examined. In the absence of challenge to the said Original Order, we will not be in a position to adjudicate those merits. Thus, the petitioners are at liberty to adjudicate the matter in the manner known to law. The writ petitions are dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
