The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was running a chit fund, collecting public money. The specific allegation is that the petitioner collected a sum of approximately Rs.8,00,16,000/- from various persons and failed to repay the amount to the members of the chit fund, including the defacto complainant. Hence, the case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has not committed any offence and she has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that a false complaint was lodged solely to harass the petitioner and to implicate her for statistical purposes, and that the FIR was registered purely for statistical targets. Hence, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent strongly opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The prosecution highlighted the massive scale of the alleged financial fraud, noting that the petitioner had collected a total sum of approximately Rs. 8,00,16,000/- through an illegal chit fund scheme.
