ORDER: Heard Mr.A.Sreedhar, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.Vijay Kumar, learned counsel representing Mr.A.S.C.Bose, learned counsel for the respondents.
2. On 03.07.2026, when the Contempt Case was taken up for hearing, this Court, considering the gravity of the disobedience of the order of this Court, directed the 1st respondent to be present before the Court on
06.07.2026. Pursuant to the said order, Mr.Mayur Ashok, Commissioner, appeared before this Court and would submit that the order of this Court is complied with. In view of the submission so made, the presence of the 1st respondent is dispensed with.
3. Now coming to the compliance of the order, Mr.Vijay Kumar,
learned counsel, would submit that written instructions are filed by the Commissioner, Guntur Municipal Corporation, stating that, in view of the order passed in Writ Petition No.14743 of 2026, dated 22.05.2026, the Corporation officials issued further notice under Section 636 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1955 (for short “the Act”) to the landowner i.e., respondent No.6 in the Writ Petition. It is also submitted that the respondent Nos.4 and 5 in the said Writ Petition have filed Writ Petition No.16187 of 2026.
4. Mr.Vijay Kumar, learned counsel, would further submit that, in view of the oral directions of this Court in Writ Petition No.16187 of 2026, the authorities could not take any further steps. But taking into consideration that no permission is accorded to the respondents in Writ Petition No.16187 of 2026, the authorities have initiated action under Section 636 of the Act, which is narrated in paragraph 11 of the written instructions, which reads as follows:
“11. As there is no orders from the orders of the Hon’ble Court in W.P.No.16187 of 2026. Immediately started further procedure in pursuant to notice issued U/s 636 of APMC Act, the commissioner of the Guntur Municipal Corporation i.e., Respondent No.1 in the present contempt case wrote a letter vide Roc.No.01/1021/GMC/UC/2025- WPRS68, dated 03.07.2026 to the Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Collector Office Road, Guntur, AP Guntur, Urban, by requesting to provide adequate police bandobast, including sufficient

women police personnel, on 04.07.2026 at 9.00 A.M. at G.T. Road, near Vijaya Lakshmi Theatre, Guntur, to maintain law and order, prevent any untoward incidents, and facilitate the peaceful and smooth execution of the demolition, in compliance of the orders of the Hon’ble court in W.P.No.14743 of 2026.”
5. In view of the submissions made in the written instructions, this Court is satisfied that the order of this Court is complied with. The Commissioner has taken sufficient action to demolish the unauthorized structures on 04.07.2026 at 09:00 A.M. with the assistance of the police and demolished the entire unauthorized structures at 03:00 P.M.
6. In view of the above, the Contempt Case is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
As a sequel, Interlocutory Applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
