( 2026:JHHC:7350 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A.No. 2071 of 2026 Karan Kumar Singh @ Karan Singh --- --- Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand --- --- Opp. Party --- CORAM: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay --- For the Petitioner: Mr. Mohit Prakash, Advocate For the Resp.-State: Mr. Achinto Sen, A.P.P. --- 02 / 17.03.2026 Heard Mr. Mohit Prakash, learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. 2. The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier dismissed as withdrawn in B.A.No. 15562 of 2021. Subsequent thereto the petitioner had moved for grant of bail twice in B.A.No. 629 of 2023 and B.A.No. 8124 of 2024 and on both the occasions his prayer for bail was rejected. 3. It has been submitted by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that the trial has till date not been concluded though the petitioner is in custody since 19.07.2021. 4. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. 5. The allegation reveals that the petitioner had shot at Vikash Mishra who succumbed to his injuries. Though five witnesses were examined by the prosecution but subsequently they were recalled for cross-examination on an application preferred by the petitioner under Section 311 Cr.P.C. As per the impugned order out of eight charge-sheet witnesses, two witnesses have been examined till date. 6. However, considering the direct nature of allegations levelled against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to him. His prayer for bail is hereby rejected once again at this stage.
