Chauhan, learned DAG with Mr. Vikash Uniyal, learned Brief Holder, for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. In the High Court of Uttarakhand, the present case arises from Bail Application filed under Section 483 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking regular bail for the Applicant - Gopal Chandra Vanwassi @ Gopal Ram, who has been accused in FIR No.17 of 2026, dated 16.03.2026, under Section 308 (2) later converted to 308 (5) of BNS, at Police Station Kotwali Bageshwar, District Bageshwar. 4. Learned counsel for the Applicant submits that the Applicant is languishing in jail since 21.03.2026. He further submits that the Applicant has falsely been implicated in the present matter. It is also contended by the learned counsel for the Applicant that the Applicant is a social worker/activist and a whistleblower against acts of corruption committed by the Government functionaries in collusion with the influential people in District Bageshwar, and in this regard commendation letter has also been issued by Vigilance Establishment to the Applicant, which is annexed along with this bail application. 5. The bail application of the Applicant has been vehemently opposed by the learned State Counsel. 6. Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, the Applicant has made out a case for bail. 7. Accordingly, bail application is allowed. It is directed that the Applicant - Gopal Chandra Vanwassi @ Gopal Ram, who has been accused in FIR No.17 of 2026, dated 16.03.2026, under Section 308 (2) later converted to 308 (5) of BNS, at Police Station Kotwali Bageshwar, District Bageshwar, be released on bail on furnishing a personal bond with two reliable sureties each in the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned court.
