1. This is an office reference initiated on the request letter dated 25.02.2026 sent by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bilaspur, whereby a request is being made for extension of time to conclude the trial of the Criminal Case No. 985 of 2024 pending before it.
2. Vide order dated 16.10.2025, passed in CRMP No. 2941 of 2025, the learned trial Court was directed to decide the pending Criminal VED PRAKASH DEWANGAN Digitally signed by VED PRAKASH DEWANGAN Date: 2026.03.11 19:11:50 +0530
2 Case No. 985 of 2024 as early as possible, preferably within a period of 4 months from the next date fixed before it. The copy of the
order dated 16.10.2025 was received by the learned trial Court on 16.10.2025 itself and till date 7 witnesses have been examined out of total 18 witnesses. It is also averred in the request letter that the summons and bailable warrants have regularly been issued to the witnesses but they are not turning up. Therefore, some more time is required to conclude the trial of the said criminal case.

Considering the nature of the offence and that 7 witnesses have been examined and 11 witnesses are yet to be examined before the learned trial Court, and further considering the request letter of the learned trial Court stating that summons and bailable warrants have been regularly issued to the witnesses, four months’ further time from the next date fixed before it is granted to the learned trial Court to conclude the trial of the said Criminal Case No. 985 of 2024 pending before it.
