No. 1529 of 2026 __________ For Petitioner(s): Mr.S.Mohamed Sahith Ali For Respondent(s): Mr.C.R. Malarvannan, Counsel For Government Of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) Order (Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) This writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn and rightly so as the convict has not completed one year from the date of last availed leave which is between 15.10.2025 and 29.10.2025. Needless to say, he is at liberty to seek leave after completion of one year. The authorities are also holding against the convict the fact that he absconded for more than 3 years between 2008 and 2011. However, in our considered view, this may not stand in the way of the petitioner being granted leave having regard to our order in WP Crl. No. 895 of 2026 dated 17.06.2026, as also the position that he has been granted leave by intervention of this Court on two occasions when he had surrendered to jail in time. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (A.S.M.,J.) (S.M.,J.) 21-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes SSM To 1.
