In light of the issue raised in the writ petition, the same is being disposed of at this stage. 3. The petitioner, who is serving as a Driver with the respondent-Department, states that he is posted at Udaipur, District Lahaul & Spiti, since the year 2003 and he accordingly 1Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2026:HHC:4461 has made a request for his transfer to some other station, in terms of Annexure P-4. According to the petitioner, despite this representation having been made in the first week of January, 2026, it has not been responded to or decided by the respondent-Department. Accordingly, he prays for issuance of mandamus to the Authority to transfer him out of his present place of posting to a station of his choice. 4. In Light of the fact that the petitioner has already made a representation to the Authority concerned, this petition is disposed of with the direction that let an appropriate order on the representation of the petitioner be passed by the Authority, within a period of six weeks from today and if either of the stations where the petitioner intends to be transferred is vacant, then his request for transfer to said stations be considered sympathetically.
