For Petitioner(s): Mr.P.Veera Narayanan For Respondent(s): MS.R.S.INDIRA, GOVT.ADVOCATE (CRL.SIDE) https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 18201 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER The petitioners apprehend arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 126, 296(b), 115(2), 118(i) and 35(3) of BNS in Crime No.134 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail. 2. The case of the prosecution is that following a verbal altercation between the petitioners and the de facto complainant, the petitioners assaulted the de facto complainant, causing him to sustain injuries. Hence the complaint. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent and a false case has been foisted against them and that they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. 4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that, due to previous enmity, the petitioners assaulted the defacto complainant, due to which, the defacto complainant sustained grievous injuries and he was admitted in the hospital for more than 90 days. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions. 6. In view of the gravity of the allegations levied against the petitioners, this Court is of the opinion that enlarging the petitioners on bail in an offence of this nature would shock the societal conscience. Therefore, no ground is made out for the grant of anticipatory bail at this stage. 7.
