WPCRL No. 1803 of 2025 Hon ’ble Ash ish Nait h an i, J . Mr. Pulak Agarwal, learned counsel for the Petitioners.
2. The present Criminal Writ Petition has been filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India with the following prayer:
“(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding the Court of learned Magistrate, Jaspur, District Udham Singh Nagar to decide the Misc. Criminal Case No. 131 of 2022, Anshu Chauhan vs. Navneet Singh Rana and Others, under Section 12 of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 pending before the said Court, within such period as prescribed by this Hon’ble Court.”
3. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioners.
4. During the course of arguments, learned counsel for the Petitioners fairly submitted that he confines his prayer only to the extent that the present Writ Petition may be
disposed of with a direction to the learned Court below to decide the aforesaid case as expeditiously as possible within a stipulated time.
5. The prayer so made appears to be innocuous.
6. Considering the limited prayer made, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the pending case, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Jaspur, District Udham Singh Nagar to
2026:UHC:5 make an earnest endeavour to decide the Misc. Criminal Case No. 131 of 2022, “Anshu Chauhan Vs. Navneet Singh Rana and Others”, as expeditiously as possible, at the earliest from the date of production of a certified copy of this
order, subject to there being no other legal impediment.
7. No order as to costs.
