01. Petitioners have sought a direction upon respondent Nos. 1 to 5 for conferment of benefits under Govt. Order No. LB-6/C of 1958 dated 05.06.1958 and Govt. Order No. S-432 of 1966 dated 03.06.1996 in respect of land measuring 23 Kanals 1 Marla and 3 Sarsai comprised in Khasra No. 182 (New) situated at village Rampur, Tehsil & District Rajouri. The petitioners claim that their predecessors-in-interest were in continuous possession of the land in question prior to the year 1957, therefore, they are entitled to conferment of proprietary Serial No. 102 Supplementary List-II

rights in respect of the said land in terms of the aforesaid two Govt. Orders.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners would feel satisfied, if a direction is issued to respondent Nos. 1 to 5 to consider the case of the petitioners in the light of the legal position holding the field within a specified period of time.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos. 1 to 5 to consider the claim of the petitioners with regard to conferment of proprietary rights in terms of aforesaid two Govt. Orders in respect of the land in question most expeditiously preferably within a period of six months from the date a copy of this order is made available to the said respondents. Till such time a decision is taken by the respondents on the claim of the petitioners, status-quo with regard to possession in respect to the land in question shall be maintained by the parties.
