It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioner waylaid the defacto complainant at knife point and robbed a sum of Rs.750/- from him. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner has been in custody since 30.05.2026 and that, in any event, his further custody is not required for the purpose of investigation. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of bail, reiterated the prosecution case and, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner has four previous cases of a similar nature and that the investigation is still pending. It was further submitted that, if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, there is every possibility of his tampering with witnesses. 5. Considering the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) that the investigation is still pending and having regard to the criminal antecedents of the petitioner and the nature of the allegations, this Court is of the view that, if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, the same would pose a threat to society.
