JUSTICE B M SHYAM PRASAD ORAL ORDER The petitioner, whose Account in No.5010 0239 9051 93 with HDFC Bank, Sector-53, Chattisgarh Branch is frozen, has filed this petition for directions to the second and third respondents [the jurisdictional police within the State] to take steps to withdraw the Communication caused for freezing of his account. Mr. Trivikram S, the learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the petitioner's account is frozen because of Crime No.238/2023 registered with the Chikkaballapur CEN Crime Police Station, and as could be seen from the order sheet in C.C.No.448/2024, the complainant and the accused have come to some kind of a settlement resulting in closure of the proceedings. When queried, Ms. Saritha Kulkarni, the learned Additional Government Advocate who appears for the respondents, places on record Communication dated 08.01.2024 addressed - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:762 WP No. 37609 of 2025 by the Police Inspector, Cyber Crime Police Station, Chikkaballapura to M/s. HDFC Bank to defreeze the account as the dispute has resolved. It is seen from this Communication that though the letter is addressed to M/s. HDFC Bank, it is to its Branch Manager at Chikkaballapura, but the petitioner maintains his account with this Bank but with its branch at Chattisgarh. Therefore, the petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file a requisition with the concerned branch for permission to operate his account based on the Communication that is placed before this Court.
