“Issue a writ of mandamus, directing the 5th respondent to hold selection process to the post of Assistant Professor in English in strict adherence to the provisions of 2018 UG Regulations (Annexure- G1) as has been directed by the Additional Director, College Education in his letter dated 20.04.2023 (Annexure-E) by awarding marks to the candidates in the interview as specified in table 3B appended to the UGC Regulations of 2018, to meet the ends of justice.”
2. The case of the petitioner is that she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in English at the sixth respondent–Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, run by the fifth respondent–Sangha, in the year 2009 on a temporary basis. The Management issued a notification in the month of October 2022 (vide Annexure-C) inviting applications from eligible candidates, including for the posts of Lecturers. The Institution is required to conduct the selection process in accordance with the UGC Regulations,
2018. The apprehension of the petitioner is that the Management is bypassing the UGC Regulations, 2018. Hence, she has approached this Court. - 4 -
