Considering the fact that double the amount of the cheque has been ordered as compensation. The lower appellate Court has imposed 10% of the compensation amount to be paid by the above direction, which amounts to 20% of the cheque amount. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner expresses severe hardship. When notice is served on the respondent/complainant, the Respondent/ Complainant has not chosen to appear before this Court and oppose the prayer for modification. 4.Considering the hardship that is pleaded on behalf of the petitioner, the criminal original petition is allowed on the following terms; (i). The condition imposed by the learned Principal Sessions, Judge, Chennai, by order dated 20.05.2026 in Crl.M.P.No.1 of 2026 in Crl.A.No.690 of 2026 is modified as 5% of the compensation amount.
