2. It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioner waylaid the defacto complainant and robbed a sum of Rs.400/- from him at knife point. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner has been in custody since 01.07.2026 and that, in any event, his further custody is not required for the purpose of investigation. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of bail, reiterated the prosecution case and, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner has 16 previous criminal cases to his credit and that the investigation is still pending. It was further submitted that, if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, the same would pose a threat to society, apart from there being every possibility of his tampering with witnesses. 5. Crl.O.P.No.18775 of 2026 criminal antecedents of the petitioner and the nature of the allegations, this Court is of the view that, if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, the same would pose a threat to society.
