Side) ORDER The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 132, 123 of BNS Act, 2023 r/w Section 24(1) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 in Crime No.282 of 2026, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17579 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused were found to be in illegal possession of 100 pockets of Hans. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioner has no bad antecedents. On the basis of the confession of A1, this petitioner has been arrayed as A2. The specific overt act alleged against this petitioner is that she accompanied A1 for the purchase of contraband, and no contraband was recovered from this petitioner. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to co-operate with the investigation. Hence, he prayed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and would submit that the petitioner has 11 previous cases of similar nature. 5. From the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, it is seen that the petitioner has 11 previous cases of a similar nature. Hence, considering such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6.
