(MD) No. 19720 of 2017 and batch dated 06.03.2026, and consequently issue a joint online patta in favour of the petitioners. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26201 of 2026 __________ Page7 of 11 2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are the absolute owners of the properties comprised in S.F. Nos. 274/1, 274/2, 274/4, 274/6, and 274/7, situated at Perambakkam Village, Thiruvallur District, spanning various extents. Upon approaching the revenue authorities concerned for the issuance of a patta, the petitioners were informed that the subject properties were classified as 'Gramanatham' and, therefore, they were ineligible for the grant of a patta. Subsequently, the petitioners approached the competent authorities on several occasions seeking reclassification of the lands and submitted a representation on 16.03.2026 followed by a reminder representation on 12.06.2026, requesting the grant of a joint online patta in their favour, in the light of the Full Bench judgment of this Court in W.P. (MD) No. 19720 of 2017 and batch dated 06.03.2026. Since no action was taken on the said representations, the petitioners have approached this Court by way of the present Writ Petitions. 3. In reply, Mr. M. Guruprasad, learned Government Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, produced an order passed by a Division Bench of this Court in W.P. Nos. 24283 to 24286 of 2017, dated 13.10.2023, and submitted that a certain extent of land in S.F. No. 274 has been classified as a 'Cart Track' in the revenue records, while the adjacent land in S.F. No. 308 is classified as Kasam (watercourse) poramboke. He further submitted https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26201 of 2026 __________ Page8 of 11 that the very same survey numbers were the subject matter of the aforementioned historical writ petitions, wherein the Hon’ble Division Bench directed the authorities concerned to remove all encroachments in accordance with law. However, the learned Government Counsel submitted that the petitioners’ representation dated 16.03.2026 would be considered and disposed of by the respondents on its own merits as expeditiously as possible. 4. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the learned Government Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, and perused the materials available on record. 5. In view of the above, the petitioners seek the issuance of a patta for various extents of land in S.F. Nos. 274/1, 274/2, 274/4, 274/6, and 274/7, situated at Perambakkam Village, Thiruvallur District. However, within the very same survey number, i.e., S.F. No. 274, a certain extent of land is classified as a 'Cart Track' in the revenue records, and on an earlier occasion, a Division Bench of this Court in W.P. Nos. 24283 to 24286 of 2017, dated 13.10.2023, directed the officials concerned to remove all encroachments from the said survey number. Therefore, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioners’ representation dated 16.03.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (MD) No. 19720 of 2017 and batch dated 06.03.2026 as well as the mandate of the Division Bench order dated 13.10.2023 passed in W.P. Nos. 24283 to 24286 of 2017, after affording a reasonable opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners. 6. With the above directions, these Writ Petitions stand disposed of.
