The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner’s father purchased a house site measuring 1,486 sq. ft. in T.S. No. 89/4, Ward 'N', Block No. 35, through a registered Sale Deed dated 06.12.1973. However, in the Town Land Register, the land in T.S. No. 89/17 was wrongly classified as "Inam Punjai". To reclassify the land, the petitioner submitted an application dated 24.04.2023 to the respondents. Following an inspection, the Deputy Taluk Surveyor submitted a report dated 07.09.2023 to the third respondent, recommending that the petitioner’s land be reclassified as "Ryotwari land". The third respondent subsequently forwarded this recommendation report to the second respondent on 22.09.2023. As the second respondent failed to pass orders, the petitioner sent a fresh representation dated 22.05.2026 to the respondents. Since no final orders have been passed on the initial application dated 24.04.2023, the petitioner has approached this Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26240 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 3. In reply, Mr.M.Guruprasad, learned Government Counsel who takes notice on behalf of the respondents would submit that the petitioner’s application dated 24.04.2023 will be disposed of by the 2nd respondent within a period of six weeks. 4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record. 5. In view of the above, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner’s application dated 24.04.2023 on its own merits based on the recommendation of the 3rd respondent dated 22.09.2023 and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of.
