W.P.(MD)No.18627 of 2026 O R D E R The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 04.09.2025, within a stipulated time period fixed by this Court. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the subject properties are the self-acquired properties of the petitioner's father one Mariyappa Pillai. During the passage of time, after the death of the petitioner's father, now three houses are in dilapidated condition and only two houses are the dwelling units. Since the electricity service connection for the said houses was disconnected, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 3.Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would submit that there are five houses in the subject property and the petitioner's father obtained one service connection for all the said houses. Since the said houses are now in dilapidated condition and improper maintenance of the electricity connection and further, the electricity wires are damaged, the electricity service connection was disconnected and therefore, prays for appropriate orders. 4.Heard the learned Counsel for the parties. ____________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.(MD)No.18627 of 2026 5.Admittedly, the subject property belongs to the petitioner's father and after his death, the petitioner and his brothers are in possession of the said properties. The electricity service connection has admittedly been disconnected in the subject properties. However, upon hearing the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent and upon perusal of the photographs, it is seen that there is improper maintenance of the electricity connection and further, the electricity wires are in damaged condition. Hence, this Court is of the view that if at all the petitioner wants a fresh connection, the petitioner can very well approach the respondent with a fresh application and the same shall be disposed of by the respondent.
6.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of, however, with a liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. There shall be no order as to costs. 06.07.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet: Yes / No
