(2) Petitioner participated in a selection for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor in Department of Physics in Doon University, Dehradun. According to petitioner, respondent no. 3 was wrongly selected and appointed, even though there were several defects in the testimonials supplied by her while making application. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: “I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari to direct the Respondent no. 2 to cancel the offer of appointment of Respondent no. 3 as Assistant Professor (SC), Department of Physics, School of Physical Sciences, Doon Unviersity, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), which is dated 30.08.2023 (contained as Annexure no. 5 to the writ petition). II. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus to direct the Respondent no. 2 to issue a appointment letter of Assistant Professor (SC), Department of Physics, School of Physical Sciences, Doon Unviersity, Dehradun (Uttarakhand) to the petitioner.” (3) Learned Senior Counsel for the 2026:UHC:1720-DB petitioner, after arguing for a while, submits that petitioner has made a representation, which is on record as Annexure-19 to the writ petition, therefore Vice Chancellor of the University be directed to take decision on the said representation. (4) Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to Vice Chancellor to take decision on the pending representation of the petitioner within three months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
