Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner made representations dated 22.10.2019, 03.02.2021, 02.01.2022 and 03.05.2026 before the respondents seeking to pay Solatium amount at 30 percentage as per Section 23(2) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and an additional amount at 12 percentage per annum as per Section 23(1-A) from the date of Notification to the date of Arbitral Award at Rs. 8,640/- per square Meter along with interest at 9 percentage for one year from the date of possession and thereafter at 15 percentage per annum till the date of actual payment as per section 28 of the said Act, 1894, in respect of the petitioners land, situated at Surapattu Village, Madhavaram (Erstwhile Ambattur) Taluk and Chennai (Erstwhile Thiuruvallur District), Comprised in Survey No. 193/3A of an extent of 1450 Sq. mt. acquired for the purpose of constructing the Chennai Bypass in compliance with the judgment of Honble Supreme Court of India order dated 25.03.2026 in the case Union of India vs. Tarsem Singh. However, the said representations were not considered by the respondents.
