Borthakur, learned Advocate for the State/respondent Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Page No.# 3/3 This Public Interest Litigation has been filed by the residents of Bashbera village in the District of Sonitpur, Assam, seeking an intervention from this Court for construction of a culvert on the Kolakuchi Gorjuli PWD Road. A wooden culvert had been existing at that location, which was dismantled for construction of a road under the “Asom Mala” project. The contention raised on behalf of the State is that in place of the existing wooden culvert, a new RCC Box Culvert of 6 meters’ span has been sanctioned and today the work is almost on the verge of completion. In support of her above contention, the learned counsel for the State has presented before this Court a communication dated 13.11.2025, issued by the Chief Engineer, PWD (Roads), Assam, intimating that the construction of a RCC culvert at the place, where the wooden culvert had been existing, has almost been completed and shall be made functional within a short span of time. With this statement on behalf of the respondents, we do not consider it necessary to continue with this petition any further, as the grievance of the petitioners has already been redressed. Accordingly, we close this PIL petition. We also take on record the afore-noted communication made by the Chief Engineer, PWD (Roads), to the learned Standing Counsel, PWD, Assam.
