The case of the petitioners is that they submitted a representation dated 21.04.2025 to the respondents seeking redetermination of compensation, on the ground that the compensation awarded to them was grossly inadequate and disproportionate to the prevailing market value. However, the respondents failed to consider the same within a reasonable period. Mr. B. Pachaiyappan, learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents, submitted that the 1st respondent is the competent authority to consider the petitioners’ representation and that appropriate orders will be passed thereon. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 21.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such orders shall be passed after issuing due notice to the petitioners and affording them an opportunity of a personal hearing, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
