WP No. 25358 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER The above Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-
“directing the respondents to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 12 percentage per annum for the belated payment of Rs.14,64,004/-towards PF and for the belated payment of Rs.13, 421/-towards earned leave/medical leave salary within a specified time frame”
2. The case of the petitioner is that, after serving the respondent Transport Corporation for about 28 years, he retired from service on 30.04.2025. However, his terminal benefits were settled belatedly, and no interest was paid for the period of delay. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondent requesting payment of interest for the delayed period. Since the said representations have not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. The learned Standing Counsel for the 1st respondent would fairly submit that they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount. 4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
