In the High Court of Uttarakhand, the present case arises from Bail Application filed under Section 483 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking regular bail for the Applicant – Vishnu Ballabh Pant, who has been accused in Range Case No.46/Roorkee/2025-26, under Sections 2, 9, 12, 39, 40 (2), 44, 49, 50 and 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, Chalani Police Station Forest Department, Haridwar District Haridwar. 4. The case of the prosecution is that on 09.09.2025, some information was received through informer that in Village Khanjarpur, Roorkee, some snakes are kept in a residence. On the said information, the forest team went to the said room and about 86 snakes of different species were recovered and it is also alleged that snake poison was also recovered. Therefore, the complaint was lodged. 5. Learned counsel for the Applicant submits for the consideration of the bail that Applicant has falsely been implicated in the present crime and the Applicant is languishing in jail since 17.09.2025, and the Applicant has no criminal history. 6. Learned counsel for the Applicant submits that it is a case of parity, as the co-accused, namely, Nitin Kumar, has been granted bail by this Court vide judgment and order dated 24.04.2026 in BA 1st No.334 of 2026. 7. On the other hand, bail application has been opposed by the learned State Counsel. 8. Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, the Applicant has made out a case for bail. 9. Accordingly, bail application is allowed. It is directed that the Applicant - Vishnu Ballabh Pant, who has been accused in Range Case No.46/Roorkee/2025-26, under Sections 2, 9, 12, 39, 40 (2), 44, 49, 50 and 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, Chalani Police Station Forest Department, Haridwar District Haridwar, be released on bail on furnishing a personal bond with two reliable sureties each in the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned court.
