2. It is seen that the petitioner is from ‘B’ party and respondents 7 to 9 are from ‘A’ party. There was a dispute between them in respect of conducting a festival for ‘Sri Periyanayaki Amman Kavalkaran ThiruKovil. Therefore, there was a peace committee meeting conducted by the Tahsildar concerned, in which both the parties already agreed for certain conditions. Now the petitioner being a person from ‘B’ party is alleging that ‘A’ party failed to follow the resolution. This Court repeatedly held that the resolution passed in a peace committee meeting has no legal entity and the same is for evidenciary value. Therefore, as per the resolution, one party cannot compel another party to obey the resolution. If one party violates any of the conditions, the aggrieved party can approach civil court for appropriate relief.
3. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. 14.07.2026 Index : Yes/No
