It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioner, along with the other accused, attacked the defacto complainant using a knife, thereby causing his death. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner has been in custody since 18.07.2025 and that, in any event, his further custody is not required for the purpose of investigation. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of bail, reiterated the prosecution case and, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner, along with the other accused, had committed a gruesome murder of an innocent person who had no connection whatsoever with the dispute. It was further submitted that, if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, there is every possibility of his tampering with witnesses. 5. Considering the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), the nature and gravity of the allegations, the previous criminal antecedents of the petitioner, and also the allegation that the deceased was an 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.No.17217 of 2026 innocent person having no connection with the dispute, this Court is of the view that it would not be appropriate to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. 6.
