Challenging the order passed by the respondent No.1 in No.RO.TRY/259/2026-CA dated 15.05.2026, the petitioner has filed this writ petition to quash the same with a consequential direction to the respondents to grant ordinary leave for the period of 21 days to the petitioner's husband Saravanan, son of Kuppusamy (PID.No.428658) who is a life convict prisoner, languishing in Tiruchirappalli Central Prison. 2. Learned counsel for State of Tamil Nadu (Crl.Side) would submit that as per Rule 22 of the Tamil Nadu Suspension of Sentence Rules, 1982, the convict prisoner should have completed imprisonment of three years, whereas, the convict prisoner in this case has only completed 2 years 7 months and 27 days and therefore, the impugned order has rightly been passed rejecting the request for leave. 3. In view of the abovesaid Rule 22, we do not find any infirmity in the impugned order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. (A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA J.)
