Kadapa District, as arbitrary, illegal, capricious, and high-handed, violativd of Articles 14 and 25 of the Constitution of India, apart from being in violation of the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1987 and the principles of natural justice and fair play, and consequently direct the Respondents to appoint me as hereditary Archaka of Sri Gandi Veeranjaneya Swamy Devasthanam forthwith and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, including entering the name of the Petitioner in the statutory registers and Property Register maintained under Section 43 of the Act, and pass IA NO: 1 OF 2026 Petition under Section 151 CPC praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, the High Court may be pleased pleased to direct the respondent authorities to consider the representation dated 21- 01-2026 pending disposal of the above writ petition and pas Counsel for the Petitioner: 1. GP FOR ENDOWMENTS The Court made the following Order: The present Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for the following relief: “….to issue a Writ, Order or Direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondents in considering the representation of the petitioner dated 21.01.2026 seeking recognition, restoration, and recording of hereditary Archakatvam rights in Sri Gandi Veeranjaneya Swamy Devasthanam, Marellamadaka (V) Chakrayapet Mandal, Y.S.R. Kadapa District as arbitrary, illegal, capricious, and highhanded, violative of Articles 14 and 25 of the Constitution of India, apart from being in violation of the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1987 and the principles of natural justice and fair play, and consequently direct the respondents to appoint me as hereditary Archaka of Sri Gandi Veeranjaneya Swamy Devasthanam forthwith and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, including entering the name of the petitioner in the statutory registers and property register maintained under Section 43 of the Act, and pass ……..” 2. Heard Sri Y. Srinivasa Murthy, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Sri G. Sundaresan, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Endowment. 3. Precisely, the writ petition is filed to direct the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 21.01.2026 submitted by the petitioner under Section 34(3) read with Section 43(10) of the Andhra Pradesh Charitable Hindu 4 Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987, as amended by Act 33 of 2007, to recognize the petitioner as a hereditary Archakatvam. 4. As the prayer itself innocuous, this Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage without going into the merits of the matter. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent herein to consider the representation dated 21.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four (04) weeks from the date of receipt of this order and communicate the said order to the petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs.
