The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that although the case was registered as early as 29.05.2025, it remains undetected to date. He further submitted that the stolen gold jewellery and other valuable articles have neither been traced nor recovered so far. 3. Per contra, the learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent/police submitted that it is not a case of inaction, but rather that the offence has remained undetected https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL.OP.No.18199 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 despite efforts. He assured that the second respondent will take all necessary and effective steps to detect the crime as expeditiously as possible. 4.
