Sandhawalia , Chief Justice (Oral) The present appeals are directed against the order of the learned Single Judge, dated 28.07.2025, passed in the applications filed under Section 17-B of the Industrial Disputes Act (for short ‘the Act’) in the pending eight writ petitions, challenging the awards by the employer. While deciding the said applications, 1 Whether the reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 4 directions had been issued by the learned Single Judge to the employer to pay full wages last drawn by the applicants inclusive of any maintenance allowance from the date of filing of the applications under the provisions of the Act. 2. Keeping in view the fact that the necessary affidavits have been filed wherein it was mentioned that the workmen were not gainfully engaged and as we had noticed that since the writ petitions were already pending and the applications had been filed on 21.11.2023 and the impugned order was passed on 20.07.2025, the deposited amount can be kept in the Fixed Deposit Receipt, subject to pendency of the proceedings against the Award dated 01.07.2023, which is subject matter of challenge. Accordingly, arrangement of keeping the deposited amount in the Fixed Deposit Receipt would suffice, since the Management has agreed to allow the employees to join at Dharampur, in pursuance to our earlier orders. 5 3. We are informed that the employees have already joined at Dharampur. The details of necessary deposits by way of demand drafts in the present appeals are as under:- FAO No. 15 of 2025 Rs. 1,51,900/- FAO No. 16 of 2025 Rs. 1,56,800/- FAO No. 17 of 2025 Rs. 2,22,960/- FAO No. 18 of 2025 Rs. 1,75,780/- FAO No. 19 of 2025 Rs. 2,08,260/- FAO No. 20 of 2025 Rs. 1,83,760/- FAO No. 21 of 2025 Rs. 1,50,000/- FAO No. 22 of 2025 Rs. 1,50,000/- 4. Resultantly, the Registrar General shall take steps as such to deposit the said amount in the Fixed Deposit Receipt at the highest rate of interest, subject to final orders to be passed by the learned Single Judge in the above eight writ petitions. 5. We are told that the employees are already drawing salary after joining, therefore, we do not feel it 6 appropriate as such to release the said amount till the matters are finally decided by the learned Single Judge. 6. Accordingly, the present appeals are disposed of, having become infructuous as such. Pending application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of. 7.
