In the matter of : Pandit Roy @ Achinta Roy
… Petitioner(s)
Mr. Arup Kumar Bhowmick
… for the Petitioner(s)
Mr. S. Bera Mr. Abhishek Bhanja
… for the State-respondent(s)
Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in cusody for more than four months; charge- sheet has been submitted and there is no possibility of the trial being concluded very soon, as such, learned advocate prays that the petitioner may be released on bail. State opposes the prayer for bail and draws the attention of the court to the statement of the victim under section 183 of the BNSS as also before the doctor who conducted her medico-legal examination. Having considered both the versions, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.
2 Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. Accordingly, CRM (M) 2550 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Memo of evidence submitted be kept with the record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
