WP No. 26274 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 Order This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to grant ‘No Objection Certificate’ to the petitioner for locating screen V inside the licensed premises at TS No.19 and 20, Ward No.7, Block No.8, Kovilpatti Municipality, Kovilpatti Taluk, Tuticorin District. 2. Learned counsel for petitioner would submit that petitioner had applied as early as on 03.12.2025 for grant of ‘No Objection Certificate’ to convert the existing lobby into mini theatre. Despite the same, orders have not been passed till date. 3. Learned Government Counsel for respondents would submit that the respondents would consider the said representation and pass orders within two weeks. 4. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.12.2025, keeping in view Rule 36 of the Tamil Nadu Cinema Regulation Act and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
