ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners’ representation dated 08.06.2026.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners have made a representation dated 08.06.2026 before the respondents to cancel the patta issued in the water bodies situated in S.No.37 part, Rayandapuram village, Thandrampattu Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District. However, the said representation was not considered, as on date. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Mr.B.Pachaiyappan, learned Government’s Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submitted that the petitioners’ representation dated 08.06.2026 will be considered within a period of twelve weeks.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
5. Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
WP No. 26931 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 directs respondents 1 and 2 to dispose of the petitioners’ representation dated 08.06.2026, after issuing due notice to the petitioners and other aggrieved parties if any, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If it is found that the patta was issued in respect of a water body, the respondents 1 & 2 shall cancel the same and restore it to its original status. Furthermore, if the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) is the competent jurisdictional authority to undertake this exercise, respondents 1 and 2 are
directed to forward the matter to the concerned jurisdictional RDO, immediately for compliance within the stipulated time frame.
