Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner in Court today be retained with the records. 2. The petitioner got appointment as Assistant Teacher in the year 2003 by disclosing her educational qualification of graduation. After nearly eighteen years in service, the petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondent authorities to take into consideration her post graduate qualification and to pay her at the enhanced rate. 3. The aforesaid prayer of the petitioner is opposed by the respondents. 4. On a perusal of the appointment letter of the petitioner dated January 01, 2004, it appears that her educational qualification mentioned therein is B.A. According to the petitioner, she obtained her post graduate qualification in the year 1995. For the 2 reasons best known, the petitioner did not disclose her educational qualification at the time of securing her appointment. 5. She raised her claim for grant of higher scale of pay in the year 2021. There is no reason mentioned in the writ petition as to why the petitioner failed and/or neglected to disclose her higher qualification at the time of obtaining appointment or immediately after her appointment. 6. As any direction passed for payment of salary by taking into consideration the higher qualification of a teacher will certainly have financial implication, the candidate ought to have disclosed such qualification at the initial stage and not waited to disclose the same at an opportune moment. 7. The prayer of the petitioner for grant higher scale of pay has been rejected by the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary Education), Howrah vide order dated January 11, 2024. The Court does not find any error in the order impugned. 8. In view of the above, there is no scope for interference in the writ petition. 9. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. 10. Instruction forwarded by the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary Education), Howrah dated August 20, 2024 be retained with the records. 3 11.
