None appears for the private respondents despite service. The petitioner prays for direction upon the police authority to inform him the number of criminal cases initiated against him from 2024 onwards. It appears from the report submitted by the State that two criminal proceedings have been initiated against the petitioner wherein charge sheets have been submitted upon completion of investigation. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is on bail in both the cases. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that no fruitful purpose shall be served in keeping the writ petition pending. The same is disposed of. In the meantime, the police authority shall maintain strict vigil in the area in order to avoid any untoward incident and to ensure maintenance of peace and tranquility. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
