The petitioner, mother of Abishek (convict), who is lodged in Central Prison, Puzhal, seeks a mandamus directing the respondents to grant emergency leave of 15 days without escort to the convict. 2. However, a representation has been made on 30.06.2026 seeking the same relief and Mr.Malarvannan accedes to the receipt of the representation and states that the same is under consideration. 3.As we are of the view that it would be more appropriate that the authorities consider the same and pass orders, there is a direction to R2 to consider representation dated 30.06.2026 in line with the extant rules, within a week from today and inform the petitioner and the convict immediately on disposal thereof. 4.
