It is the case of the petitioners that they were appointed as Plot Watchers on daily wage basis on 01.07.1984 and 20.10.1984. Though their names were included in the seniority list prepared in 1994 for regular appointment, their juniors were regularised earlier and the petitioners were overlooked. The petitioners were subsequently brought into regular time scale as Forest Watchers with effect from 24.01.1995, later absorbed as Plot Watchers (Supernumerary Post), and thereafter appointed as Mali (Cadre Post). They retired from service on 30.09.2018 and 31.01.2019 without receiving pension. Thereafter, the petitioners filed W.P.Nos. 18494 and 18507 of 2023, which were allowed by this Court on 03.08.2023, directing the respondents to regularise their services with effect from 24.01.1995 on par with their juniors. Pursuant to the said order, the Government issued G.O. (2D) No.190, Environment, Climate Change and Forest (FR.2(III)) Department, dated 23.10.2024, regularising their services notionally from 24.01.1995 for the purpose of pension and other retirement benefits. However, despite such regularisation, the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26288 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 6 respondents sanctioned pension only from the date of issuance of the Government Order instead of from the respective dates of retirement. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation dated 06.01.2026 requesting them to consider the request. Since no orders have been passed on the said representation, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. Heard the learned counsel on either side. 4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought in this writ petition, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26288 of 2026 __________ Page5 of 6 5.
