For Petitioner: Mr.C.R.Gokulvisvas For Respondent: Mr.S.Vinoth Kumar Government Advocate (Crl.Side) ORDER The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14.12.2025 for the alleged offences under Sections 8(C), 22(C) and 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.284 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused was found in illegal possession of 56 grams of Methamphetamine in a https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 7000 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 plastic carry bag. Hence, the case was registered. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that he has been remanded to judicial custody on 14.12.2025 and even prior to that he was taken into custody at Bangalore. It is further submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case. The learned counsel would further submit that the petitioner is ready to cooperate with the investigation and will not tamper with any witnesses and is willing to abide by any condition imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that there are about 7 accused in this case and the present petitioner is arrayed as A1. It is further submitted that 56 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered from the petitioner, which constitutes commercial quantity. Hence, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner. 5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side. 6. Considering the submission of the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the view that the recovery from the petitioner is of commercial quantity and the rigour under Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 7000 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 is attracted. Here, this Court does not find any material to overcome the rigour under Section 37 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. 7.
