The petitioner would submit that he joined the services of the School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu as a Secondary Grade Teacher on 07.09.1984. He retired from service as Block Educational Officer on 30.06.2023 after rendering 38 years, 9 months and 24 days of unblemished service. While processing the petitioner's pension proposal, the first respondent raised an objection regarding the fixation of the petitioner's last drawn pay. Though the required clarification was furnished by the second respondent, the first respondent reduced the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26843 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 petitioner's last drawn pay, resulting in reduction of pensionary benefits and recovery from the gratuity amount. Therefore, the petitioner submitted representations dated 20.12.2024 and 17.04.2026 requesting the first respondent to reconsider the pay fixation, restore the pensionary benefits and refund the recovered amount. Since the said representations have not been considered so far, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking the aforesaid relief. 3. Heard the learned counsel on either side. 4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought in this writ petition, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 20.12.2024 and 17.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 26843 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 5 5.
