The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners induced the de- facto complainant to invest money in a company by promising high returns and thereafter failed to refund the invested amount, thereby cheating the de- facto complainant. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that according to the FIR, the amount transferred to the petitioners' account is a sum of Rs.95,000/-. She contended that the petitioners are innocent, have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution, and have been falsely implicated in this case. She further submitted that the petitioners are ready to cooperate with the investigation and, therefore, prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of anticipatory bail on the ground that there are about 30 victims and the total amount allegedly cheated is approximately Rs.3 crores. He further submitted that complaints from other victims are still being received. 5. Taking into consideration the totality of the circumstances and the fact that the investigation is at a nascent stage, this Court is of the firm view 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.No.17466 of 2026 that, at this stage, it is not desirable to enlarge the petitioners on anticipatory bail. 6.
