Manoj Kumar For Respondent(s): Mr.N.Palanivel, Govt.Advocate (Crl.Side) ******* https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17252 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), r/w 20(b) (ii) (B) & 29(1) of NDPS Act, in Crime No.155 of 2026, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 20.05.2026 the petitioner along with other accused were found in illegal possession of 1.100 kilograms of Ganja. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court and hence, prayed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), appearing for the respondent Police, reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation is still pending. Therefore, he vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions. 6. From the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), it is seen that the investigation is still pending. It is also evident that, if anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner, it is likely to have an adverse impact on society. Considering the antecedents of the petitioner, the nature of the allegations and the interest of society at large, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 7.
