Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 and perused the materials available on record. 3. A perusal of the records reveals that the petitioner lodged a complaint alleging that she was not permitted to enter her matrimonial house, where her children are living along with her in-laws. The said complaint was enquired and closed on 25.04.2026. Further, it is seen that the petitioner is an accused in a case relating to the murder of her husband, allegedly committed in conspiracy with her paramour. and her own children were witnessed to the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. No. 1552 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 occurrence. Now, the petitioner sought for right of residence in the matrimonial house and lodged a complaint before the fifth respondent. The fifth respondent enquired the complaint and closed the same on 24.05.2026 and directed to approach the competent Court for appropriate relief. 4. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order dated 24.05.2026 passed by the fifth respondent. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. It is made clear that if the petitioner is aggrieved on the closure report submitted by the fifth respondent, the petitioner ought to have filed a private complaint in the manner known to law, if so advised.
