CRL OP No. 17208 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 Order The prayer is to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.345 of 2026, registered for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 118(1), and 351(3) of the BNS and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women (Amendment) Act, 2002. 2.Upon perusal of the First Information Report, it is seen that the complaint has been given by the second respondent, who is the wife of the petitioner herein. The contentions raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner are factual in nature and can very well be brought to the notice of the Investigating Officer, if the petitioner so chooses, and the same shall be taken into account by the Investigating Officer while completing the investigation. 3.With the said liberty being kept open, the prayer in this Criminal Original Petition cannot be countenanced.
