The petitioner, serving as an Assistant Professor in the department of Philosophy in Hiralal Bhakat College, Nalhati, Birbhu, has to travel at a distance of 265 kms everyday from her place of residence at Howrah. The distance from the residence of the petitioner to her work place is insurmountable. 3. Hence, the petitioner has sought for a transfer and made a representation to the respondent No.3 on May 23, 2025. The petitioner’s child is also ailing and requires continuous attention from the petitioner, which ought to be taken into consideration. 4. Since the application has been pending since May, 2025, without any deliberation thereof, the respondent 2 No.3 is directed to immediately consider the representation of the petitioner and dispose it of by February 10, 2026 considering the fact that the distance from the petitioner’s residence to her work place as well as the surrounding circumstance that the petitioner has to tend to an ailing child. 5. The decision taken by the respondent No.3 shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of seven days from such decision. 6. With the aforestated direction, the writ petition is disposed of. 7. Since affidavits have not been called for, allegations contained in the petition are deemed to have been denied. 8.
