Nos.235 and 236) within a time frame as may be stipulated by this Court. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as the Mutawalli of Hazrath Syed Hussain Sha Khadri Dargah Masjid and Dargah by the first respondent for a term commencing from 25.01.2022 to 24.01.2025, which was subsequently extended for a further period of one year from 17.04.2025 to 16.04.2026. During his tenure, the petitioner undertook several developmental and administrative measures, including construction of the second floor of the Masjid with funds sanctioned from the Chief Minister's Fund, construction of a staircase, provision of a ramp for differently-abled persons, maintenance of financial transparency, and timely payment of all subscriptions to the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board. He also successfully conducted the annual Urs festival and addressed the grievances of the Jamathars. 3. As the petitioner's extended tenure was nearing expiry and the flag ceremony and Sandal Urs festival were scheduled to be held in April and May 2026, respectively, he submitted a representation dated 08.04.2026 to the first respondent seeking further extension of his tenure as Mutawalli. Since no orders were passed on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking appropriate directions to the respondents to consider and dispose of his representation in accordance with law. __________ Page3 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 25391 of 2026 4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.Rajeswari Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the respondents. 5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents 1, 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after issuing due notice to the petitioner and affording him a reasonable opportunity of personal hearing. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
