No.18449 of 2026 PRAYER :- Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS directing the 1st to 3rd respondents to survey the petitioners Punja land in Survey Nos.91/7, 91/8A, 91/9B measuring about 0-26.73 ares situated at Semmalapatti Revenue Village, Alavayal Post, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District along with police protection on the basis of the petitioners application dated 02.06.2026. Vishnu Government Advocate (Crl. side) ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to survey the petitioner's punja land comprised in Survey Nos. 91/7, 91/8A and 91/9B, measuring 0.26.73 hectares, situated at Semmalapatti Revenue Village, Alavayal Post, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District, with police protection, based on the petitioner's application dated 02.06.2026. 2. The petitioner claims title over the property comprised in Survey Nos. 91/7, 91/8A and 91/9B, measuring 0.26.73 hectares, situated at 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD). No.18449 of 2026 Semmalapatti Revenue Village, Alavayal Post, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District. According to the petitioner, the property was purchased by the petitioner's father, namely, Nainan, under Sale Deed dated 26.11.1992, registered as Document No. 1590 of 1992. The vendor, in turn, derived title, under Sale Deed dated 22.08.1985, registered as Document No. 1270 of 1985. Thus, the petitioner traces title through the above transactions. The petitioner has now sought a survey of the property. The respondents 4 to 7 are the adjoining landowners who are disputing the petitioner's boundary. 3. In view of the above, the 1st respondent/Tahsildar is directed to issue notice to the petitioner as well as Respondents 4 to 7 and conduct a survey of the property in accordance with law. If necessary, The 3rd respondent shall provide adequate police protection to facilitate the survey. In the event the petitioner seeks to erect boundary stones, the same shall be carried out at the petitioner's cost. The Official Respondents shall also adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures: a) The Official respondents shall issue notice to the 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD). No.18449 of 2026 petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature by receiving the notice of survey. b) After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction. c) If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest. The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by all the parties concerned. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.
