OD-4 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA TESTAMENTARY AND INTESTATE JURISDICTION ORIGINAL SIDE PLA/186/2025 IN THE GOODS OF: SMT BINAPANI SARKAR (DEC) BEFORE: The Hon’ble JUSTICE PARTHA SARATHI CHATTERJEE Date: 8th October, 2026. Appearance: Mr. Souma Bhattacharya, Adv. Ms. Rupsa Ganguli, Adv. …for the petitioner. The Court: At the time of presentation of the application for grant of probate, being PLA/186/2025, the original Will was deposited with the concerned Department; however, the same is misplaced. Learned Advocate appearing for the applicant submits that the applicant has produced a copy of the original Will and that the attesting witness appearing before this Court has admitted the said document to be the last Will and Testament of the testator. Let a copy of the Will submitted by the petitioner be taken on record. Considering the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner, I do not find any impediment to accepting his prayer. Accordingly, the copy of the Will submitted by the petitioner is taken on record. The petitioner shall publish the citation in two leading newspapers having wide circulation in the locality, one in English and the other in Bengali. The gist of the citation published in the Bengali newspaper shall be in Bengali and shall be treated as the official translation thereof. 2 List this matter four weeks after publication. IA NO. GA/1/2026 stands disposed of. (PARTHA SARATHI CHATTERJEE, J.) SK
