For Petitioner : Mr.G.Cenil For Respondent : Mr.F.Deepak Standing Counsel for Corporation 1/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.19435 of 2026 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.06.2026 and, consequently, to provide a water supply connection to the petitioner's house, in respect of which he claims a life estate, bearing Door No.16/95H, situated at Villukuri Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District. 2.By consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is residing in the house bearing Door No.16/95H, situated at Villukuri Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District, over which he claims a life estate. It is further submitted that, in order to obtain a water supply connection to the said house, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 29.06.2026 to the respondent requesting the grant of 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.19435 of 2026 such connection. Despite receipt of the said representation, the respondent has not passed any orders thereon. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondent, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.06.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within such time as may be fixed by this Court. 5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 29.06.2026, after affording the petitioner, as well as any other interested or affected parties, if any, an adequate opportunity of hearing, and thereafter pass appropriate 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.19435 of 2026 orders on merits and in accordance with law.
